Intake Assistant

Before the visit

Checks details and eligibility before the visit, sends the forms, and passes the patient’s reason to the clinician.

What Intake Assistant does

  • Checks Medicare, DVA and healthcare identifier eligibility ahead of the visit and reports exactly what the national service returned.
  • Sends your service’s intake forms, and shows the desk which have come back and which have not.
  • Captures the patient’s reason for visit in their own words and routes it to the clinician only.
  • Puts a worklist item in front of staff for anything that needs a person — an expired card, a missing consent, a form not returned.

Guardrails

  • Read or show medicines, allergies, conditions or results. That is Clinical Scribe’s work, for a clinician.
  • Ask a patient a clinical question. Their reason for visit is passed on as written; nothing is asked in follow-up.
  • Submit a claim. An eligibility check is a check, not a transaction.
  • Decide that a patient is ineligible. It reports what the rail returned; a human in the loop decides what to do.
Who it helps

The medical receptionist. The pre-admission clerk. The practice manager watching the no-show and the rejected-claim numbers. The clinician who wants to know why the patient booked before the patient sits down.
